NuScale Rockets Higher on Amazon Deal
I started writing about nuclear power back in March as it became VERY clear that AI was going to require a shit ton of power. Since then, I have been following and investing in a small modular reactor company based out of Oregon called NuScale power (SMR). At the time, NuScale was trading just under $10. Today, it's up to $22.00 as both Amazon and Google have made announcements that they will be investing in nuclear.

I watched Tesla's "We, Robot" event a couple weeks ago and he said something that I thought was very cool – "The future should look like the future." A lot of people hate the Cybertruck and hate Elon. But at least he's creating new products and pushing us to innovate faster. Glad to see Tesla beat Q3 earnings expectations. I still want a Cybertruck.

Anthropic’s new AI can now control your computer, OH! Good?
Anthropic's new Claude 3.5 Sonnet AI model, now featuring a "Computer Use" API, can control desktop apps by mimicking human interactions like keystrokes and mouse clicks.

"Not first, but best" is a tough mantra to sell if you're neither.
In an interview for WSJ Magazine, Tim Cook emphasized Apple's philosophy of "every day, every product," highlighting his own daily use of Apple products, including the Vision Pro. While Cook frames Apple's approach as "not first, but best," questions arise about the true practicality of certain products like the Vision Pro and Apple Intelligence. Critics argue that Apple is falling behind in AI, with internal concerns that they are "more than two years behind" compared to competitors like Google. There is speculation that Apple may need to make a significant acquisition to catch up in the AI space and deliver the revolutionary products it promises.

Tunnels

Sometimes, you're gonna go through stretches where it's really, really hard. 

It's all temporary. 

You can't get too high when it's good or too low when it's not so good. The only thing you really HAVE to do is just keep going. 

Think of it as a tunnel. 

You have to find the light and focus on the light. Even if it's just a little light or you can't even see the light at all – imagine the light if you have to – just keep going because there is a light. And once you come out of the tunnel there's this whole new world and you appreciate it so much more deeply than you did before you entered the tunnel.
